Chris Bailey, M.A. Professional Counseling, is a Christian Counselor who holds a Master of Arts Degrees in Professional Counseling (M.A. Professional Counseling) from Liberty University and is an active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He is committed to providing sound biblical counsel and psychotherapy services to intentionally help people obtain a lasting transformation of the heart, mind and soul.  His belief is that by being in a relationship with God through Jesus, people are able to experience joy and peace in spite of the circumstances and curve balls life throws their way. Chris strongly desires for people to be able to achieve the abundant life that Jesus had come to provide (John 10:10b), and be able to experience completely renewed and transformed minds (Romans 12:2).

Chris has a Christian eclectic, solutions-focused, brief counseling approach that is a mix of cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and Christ focused therapy.  He believes that our thoughts and perspectives (schemas) have a large effect on the way we make our life’s decisions.  Working in partnership with his respective clients, Chris will examine those thoughts and seek to identify ways those beliefs may be holding clients back from achieving their goals, and in turn help them discover a more true reflection of themselves, their relationships, and the world in which they live.  He believes in treating the whole person and each person as an individual.

Chris works with couples and adults in couple sessions, individual settings, group settings, workshop formats, and marriage retreats.  He works with varying degrees of challenges and concerns couples are faced with including communication issues, conflict resolution, and Emotionally Focused Therapy interventions that help get to the heart of many recurring issues couples find themselves unable to escape. Chris provides pre-marital/pre-engagement counseling along with Christ centered marriage counseling and mentoring. He offers marriage enrichment and communication improvement along with divorce avoidance and divorce recovery counseling.  He is also a PREPARE-ENRICH Trainer and is able to facilitate as well as certify facilitators in administering the PREPARE-ENRICH assessment for Pre-Marital (Pre-Enagagement) counseling as well as enrichment counseling for married couples.

Chris is married to his wife of over 28 years, Jamie, and together they have three daughters.  They have lived in the Fort Mill, SC area and have been active members of First Baptist Fort Mill since 2002.  Chris has served on the deacon board, as a high school discipleship group leader, a youth life class teacher and on the praise team.  He enjoys singing, hiking, mountain biking and spending time with his family.

Chris is Crisis Intervention trained and is also available for speaking engagements and training seminars.
